Extraction Technician

job description:

The Extraction Technician is responsible for producing cannabis oil/extract through various extraction techniques and processes. They are expected to have a firm understanding of chemical principles that are being applied during processing. They are also expected to record essential processing information during production and report the information electronically on each batch that is processed. Making hands on decisions will surround the following principles: Safety, Quality, Delivery and Productivity.

Accountabilities:

  • Preparation of equipment and plant materials for extraction
  • Execution of extraction and processing in accordance with state and local standards
  • Operation of sophisticated extraction equipment
  • Ensure consistency and efficiency of product through quality control testing and procedures
  • Cleaning and maintenance of extraction equipment and manufacturing facility
  • Maintaining strict inventory records of all plant materials, chemicals, and equipment used in the facility
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the entire extraction space beginning with storing the raw cannabis through the extraction process and all the way to fulfillment of orders
  • Operating, maintaining, and making adjustments and repairs to extraction equipment
  • Storing supplies and equipment and disposal of waste according to guidelines
  • Complete the cleaning and sanitization of all production equipment, work surfaces, and tools
  • Maintaining inventory records of supplies, materials, and equipment and preparing requistions as needed
  • Maintaining material safety data sheets for all chemicals and products
  • Following all standard operating procedures regarding product creation and lab safety
  • Assist in packaging and labeling of finished products
  • Works with testing laboratory as defined by state guidelines
  • All other duties as assigned

  • Following instructed procedures will maintain compliance and safety. Any compliance or safety mistake or error created must be reported to the leadership of the department.

qualifications:

  • Able to use a computer and/or hand tools while sitting or standing for extended periods of time.
  • Able to move about a typical office, manufacturing, and warehouse environment. This position is part of a fast-paced environment.
  • Working in proper PPE at all times of scheduled.
  • Working with cleaning equipment and machinery, expect humid and wet conditions while cleaning the machinery
  • Conditions in this room can be loud. Protective sound deadening equipment provided and recommended while working.
  • Able to kneel, bend, reach, rotate, and stoop on an intermittent to regular basis daily
  • Able to lift and move up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Consistent on-time attendance for all scheduled shifts. Prepared for over 40+ hour week working scheduled shifts with occasional overtime shifts to complete daily and weekly objective.
  • Occasional travel by conventional means including aircraft, motor vehicle and the like within the region and to other locations as required
  • Must at least 21+ years old per state regulations and pass a criminal background check
